There is nothing better than the silky and illuminating flavors of good espresso. Yet pulling a shot is not always as easy as it looks. It is a craft that home brewers and those newer to the coffee profession can perfect with a bit of guidance and a decent espresso machine to practice on, and that’s what Metric’s espresso lab offers. Espresso 101 addresses the basics of dosing, tamping, and extraction.
Each student will have time on the espresso machine with the goal of pulling a perfect shot of espresso by the end of the class. Students will also learn the basics of proper milk steaming, basic latte art designs, and have the opportunity for practice pouring those designs. The majority of this class is hands on practice for both steaming milk and pouring latte art. Come ready to learn!
