The altitude slows the ripening of his Caturra cherries, allowing sugars and nutrients to develop fully. Once perfectly ripe, the cherries are hand-harvested by Nelson and a small team of pickers. They’re then fermented for 24 hours, washed clean, and dried slowly on raised beds—an approach that consistently yields clarity, structure, and vibrant expression in the cup.
Nelson’s work honors the unique terroir of his farm, La Esperanza, and this coffee showcases it beautifully. Expect a dynamic cup with ripe summer blackberry, velvety brown sugar sweetness, and a tangy-sweet lemon curd acidity.
