Nestled in the highlands of northwestern Guatemala, the Vides family grows some of the country's most prized coffees. Don Angel is one of them. Mother and son team Maria Elena Vides and Renardo ‘Nayo’ Ovalle pour their generational knowledge into caring for the bourbon and caturra trees that populate the lush farm. The presentation of this coffee is characteristic of Huehuetenango where they have grown coffee for three generations.
The bourbon contributes complex red stone fruit and rich confectionary qualities to this lot, while the caturra provides a balanced mouth feel, underlying sweetness, and citrus acidity. Expertly picked and processed by the Vides Family, they combine to present a sophisticated cup with depth and clarity. Don Angel shows the value of direct trade and the quality that care brings.
