Dear Friends,
This past Thursday, both Darko and i attended this years Good Food Awards Ceremony to accept an award for our Kenya Kayu. The honor of being among some fantastic roasters was awesome and getting to witness food quality at all levels of the chain was a great experience for the both of us, definitely where encouraged and inspired by the occasion. Seeing all the folks from different categories representing their respective fields made me realize that it isn't just coffee folks who take what we do very personal. Its not news that coffee is a personal thing for most folks who support craft roasters, but i could see comparisons in the honey category just as much as the pickle category. Each field respects the process and does everything they can to employ sustainable practices in order to promote Good Food the way it should be, which is sustainable, of quality and delicious.
Lastly, we want to thank all of you who have supported us from day one, our amazing wives for tolerating our instanity and our close friends because you know the real deal. Also, if we could dedicate this award to anyone in particular, we dedicate it to our dear friend Jim Karr. Jim, you galvanized our community and continue to do so from heaven. We miss you dear friend but you are still with all of us with every batch we brew, every machine we install and every coffee we taste.
