The high elevation of the Montero's Don Eli farms and Tarrazú's unique soil are the starting point for the intensity of this coffee. Under the watchful eye of Don Carlos Montero, the terroir's slow maturation period increases the complexity of nutrients that feed the coffee in Miramar throughout the year. Gesha's prized characteristics thrive in this terroir, adding to the complex floral and layered citrus notes that make this varietal famous.
At harvest, a second generation of Montero takes the reins. Jacob expertly oversees the processing of this micro lot. Whole cherries are slowly dried in thin layers on raised beds under shade to ensure a slow, even processing. Over thirty days, the fruit dries around the seed, under constant movement and a watchful eye. This imbues both deep fruit notes from the cherry and the intensity loved in natural processing.
Miramar Gesha Natural is truly greater than the sum of the parts. The Montero family's deep care and Tarrazú's famed growing conditions express themselves in each cup as layers of Grand Marnier, passion fruit jam, and coffee blossom.
